Day Four Lesson: The Whole Body Workout
Welcome to Day 4 of the 7-Day Core Kickstart!
Today’s focus is on a concept that might seem unfamiliar to many but is foundational to Joseph Pilates' method. He intuitively understood the importance of working the whole body, which is one of the reasons his techniques are so effective.
When we talk about working the whole body, it's about more than just muscle groups. We have connective tissue also known as fascia, that runs the entire length of our bodies—from our toes, along the bottom of our feet, up the back of our legs, lower back, upper back, neck and head. It's all one continuous line, and there are other lines of fascia that run throughout the body.
I've seen firsthand how engaging muscles up the chain (like the upper back) and down the chain (like the hamstrings, calves, and even feet) can provide crucial support for the lower back. This is just one example of why its so important to work your whole body and not just isolated muscle groups.
In today's class, we’ll incorporate exercises that work the upper back (up the chain) and hamstrings (down the chain) to help you build a stronger, more supportive foundation for your back.

Hi, I'm Tina
I discovered therapeutic Pilates after years of neck and back pain from scoliosis and long hours at a desk, and it completely transformed my body and my life. That experience inspired me to dedicate the past 20 years to helping others find the same relief and confidence through mindful movement.
My approach blends therapeutic Pilates with foam rolling, mobility exercises, meditation and affirmations, creating a deeply restorative practice that supports both body and mind. It’s more than exercise, it’s movement as medicine.
Through my classes, I help people reduce pain, move freely, and reconnect with themselves — so they can feel strong, mobile, and energised every day.
